“DIRTY WATER. SERIOUS HYGIENE CONCERNS. NO REFUND”
I would rate 0 if I could. BEWARE. SO DIRTY WE LEFT AFTER 10 MINUTES. We booked this hotel because it was advertised as a 5‑star property and the pool, spa and jacuzzi looked amazing in the photos. At check‑in, we were asked to pay the full amount upfront – almost €800. Then we went to see the room and spa pool. THE SPA AND POOL WATER WAS DIRTY AND CLOUDY, WITH LARGE BLACK AREAS ON THE BOTTOM THAT APPEARED TO BE MOLD. We had been inside the hotel for around 10 MINUTES when we decided we were not staying. We went straight back to reception, explained the condition of the facilities and asked for a refund. THE ANSWER: NO REFUND. ALMOST €800 GONE. We then asked for a written confirmation that the hotel had refused our refund, so we could send it to and open a formal dispute. What happened next was unbelievable. INSTEAD OF CONFIRMING THAT THEY REFUSED THE REFUND, THEY HANDED US A DOCUMENT TO SIGN SAYING, IN EFFECT, THAT WE WERE LEAVING VOLUNTARILY, EVERYTHING WAS AS ADVERTISED, AND WE DID NOT WANT A REFUND. We obviously refused to sign it. We took photos of the facilities and left. This was not about being picky or “not liking the room.” We booked this place specifically for the spa and pool, and what we found was completely different from what we expected from a hotel advertised as 5‑star. Only afterwards did we properly read through the many 1‑star reviews. Now we understand why they are there. DIRTY WATER. SERIOUS HYGIENE CONCERNS. NO REFUND. AND THEN AN ATTEMPT TO GET US TO SIGN A DOCUMENT SAYING EVERYTHING WAS FINE. Read the recent reviews carefully before booking.
