Located on Eastbourne's seafront, the West Rocks Hotel is situated between the Central Bandstand and the Wish Tower, a 5-minute walk from the Eastbourne Beacon Shopping Centre and Congress Theatre. En-suite rooms feature TVs, tea/coffee facilities, and stunning sea views or English Channel vistas. Pets are welcome with pre-booking and a fee. The hotel is directly opposite a 4-mile pebbled beach and offers on-street parking with permit available for £2.35 per day.

I had a lovely stay and the staff were very helpful, but I couldn’t figure out how to close the windows and the radiator didn’t seem to work; it was said to turn off around 11 pm, yet I had it on at 9–10 pm and it never heated up. I could have mentioned it to the staff, but it didn’t bother us.

The location overlooking the promenade was great and the staff were very friendly, but the continental breakfast was very basic.

The staff were good and helpful, yet the lift broke and we were stuck on the 4th floor while our daughter was on the 2nd with a 2‑year‑old pushchair and she was heavily pregnant; David had to carry everything from both floors – he’s 76, I’m 72 and both suffer from sciatica – and our daughter couldn’t lift. In our room we couldn’t sit up because the ceiling sloped over it, and the water took forever to heat in the shower.

The location was close to the theatre that we were going to, a sea view, the parking was close to the hotel. I found the hotel quite easily. The bathroom, I didn't feel safe when having a shower and the bathroom was too small and needs fixing and you could hear people in other rooms using their bathroom. I can't have cup of tea without any milk that was missed
