“Disappointing and did not live up to the pictures portrayed in their advertisement on this site.”

The spot was spot on, Slane town itself is charming and pretty. The Battle of the Boyne visitors centre had gorgeous manicured gardens and was spotlessly clean, especially the toilets. The 15‑minute video on the battle’s history was great. We’re an elderly pair, 77 and 69, and the building had many narrow stairs, no lift, and nobody to help with luggage, plus our room was on the second floor. The toilet seat in the bathroom wouldn’t lift and the flush handle was wedged against the wall, making it hard to use. The shower tap didn’t work right and the design made the shower inside the bath slippery with a flimsy curtain. There were cracked tiles on the floor and overall the bathroom fell short of what we’d expected. The whole hotel feels neglected. Dinner was just okay, and the screw‑top bottle of Prosecco was flat as a pancake. The receptionist, the barman, and the restaurant manager Sam were all lovely, chatty, and genuinely interested in guests; Sam even helped set up our anniversary table and card.

“Comfortable stay with a lovely breakfast”

The room was lovely, linen was very nice, and the bathroom was great. A trip to Slane Hill is a must if you stay here. Breakfast was excellent, and the young man serving was friendly and welcoming. The drive to the airport was easy. Reception staff were professional but not friendly.

“Déçu, je ne recommande pas”

Breakfast was hearty and very good. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was also very good. I was very disappointed with this booking. The room was extremely noisy—needed earplugs to block the car traffic on the road right next to it—windows didn’t filter sound or dampness, and the room felt suffocatingly hot. Other guests had already mentioned this in reviews; I should have listened. The carpet was dirty and a lamp bulb was burnt out.
