The hotel’s location, cleanliness, and staff courtesy were solid, but the building felt a bit dated.
“Orvieto splendida, ma non questo Hotel.”
The proximity to the city centre and the stunning cathedral were highlights, yet the heating didn’t work and the room was freezing upon arrival; despite repeated requests, the temperature didn’t reach a livable level until late evening. The water system failed, leaving only a trickle in the bathrooms, making it impossible to wash. The parking listed on the site didn’t exist, and after endless back‑and‑forth we were only allowed to leave the car in a loading zone. The historic hotel hasn’t been renovated at all and is one of the most unremarkable.
“Medioevo”
The central location and historic‑style atmosphere matched the old town, but breakfast was a bit sparse in a cramped room, and the fourth bed was a bunk.
The price was good, but the website sold parking that was actually more than 500 m away.
The location was fine, but the breakfast left something to be desired.
