The bed was comfy and the room had a nice space, but the whole place felt like a shell of a building. We arrived at 3:30 pm after a long trip, ready to rest and prep for my partner’s race the next day. To our horror, nobody was there to greet us—no one answered the phone either. After 20 minutes of frantic calls, we called the booking site to cancel, thinking we’d been scammed. They sorted it out, and just as we were leaving, the owner called saying her sister was at the market.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, which made the visit pleasant. The only downside was that the lodge is a bit far from Santa Bárbara’s downtown area, so getting around took a bit more time.
