“A good hotel preferred by those seeking a reasonably priced stay but let down by the Age & layout.”
The staff were polite and helpful whenever they could, the spot was convenient for a short walk to Sector 17 Market, and the Dera restaurant offered generous portions that were definitely worth a visit. However, the property’s age shows in the rooms, especially the bathtub which looked old and wasn’t very clean. I stayed in the Queen Room where the only universal outlet was at the desk, so bring a 3‑meter cable if you need to charge in bed; the bedside outlets are Indian and need an adapter. All rooms faced the road, offering little view, and there was excessive lighting: two bedside table lamps that could be knocked over, two overhead lamps, plus the regular ceiling lights, all controlled from the entrance switch with the master switch non‑functional. Seating was scarce during peak breakfast buffet times, and on the first day I had to wait 10 minutes for a table for two. Minor issues included staff serving a half‑used water bottle at breakfast and a limited breakfast selection compared to JW Marriott Chandigarh. My mother enjoyed the spa and I’d recommend it if that interests you. Overall, it feels like a 4‑star equivalent with a pool.
