The vibe was lively and the staff were friendly, plus a nice view, but because the building is older, wind blew in through windows and doors, the bathroom felt a bit old, and there was a faint smell of mildew in the villa.

The staff were friendly and the location was excellent. Every evening menu was beautifully prepared and delicious. The rooms were spacious enough and clean. We liked the policy of cleaning and towel changes only upon request. The Quallena aquarium was always a pleasure to watch. It would have been nice to have a power outlet beside the bed on both sides, and the mattress felt a little too soft, but that’s a personal preference rather than a flaw.

The location and view were great, free coffee, reasonable prices and good quality lunch. It was cozy with a fireplace for an evening drink, and the self‑serve wine bar was nice. On the first day the fireplaces were lit during breakfast and throughout the day, which was very pleasant, but they were never lit during the last four days, which slightly lowered the mood. The place feels a bit worn and tired with creaky floors and carpet, even though there are upgrades around, like at reception. Our terrace, which we didn’t use because of the season, had rotting planks. The bathroom was very small and lacked a shower curtain, so water splashed over the toilet and floor. Overall, the room was a bit dark; a lighter wall and ceiling color than dark brown would have been better.
