Horseshoe Hotel

We loved this quirky, characterful hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The food was excellent with generous portions, and we didn’t wait long for it to arrive. The vegetarian breakfast was delicious. It’s a perfect spot for walkers and for getting away from it all. We did two lovely walks: one to Grosmont on the coast‑to‑coast path, and another loop from the hotel that took one and a half hours by road. The views were stunning! We had a perfect short break here and would definitely return, thank you! Maybe a little more surface space in the room, but it was excellent value for money.

“Lovely stay at the Hirseshoe Hotel”

It was my second stay at the Horseshoe Hotel, a lovely countryside pub. The staff were excellent, and we had a great evening meal and breakfast. The room’s five curtains need some attention.

The place was incredibly clean, the bedroom was comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly; the service was excellent—thanks for a wonderful stay. The only issue was the drains from the outside toilet.

“Friendly, welcoming staff in a great base for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors.”

The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was really nice from an interesting menu, and the building itself was lovely, quirky, and old. The surroundings were fantastic, with easy access to beautiful countryside for walks, etc. Nothing really went wrong; some might expect a sort of luxury that would not fit this building or its location, but that wasn’t my concern.
