“Avoid this Hotel unless you are really thick skinned to deal with terrible service and staff”

The room was spacious, the linen was decent, and the location is quiet and scenic—those are genuine positives. I stayed here from 6–13 Sep during a Ladakh trip that included the Ladakh marathon, and I’m not a fussy traveller nor writing this out of entitlement, but one issue—staff behaviour—was bad enough to outweigh everything else. At check‑in, the receptionist wouldn’t bring our bags from the cab to the reception (not the room) until payment was made, then insisted on the full amount despite a 2 k advance already paid, and became confrontational, demanding proof via a GPay screenshot. I had specifically been told no advance was needed until check‑in, but the hotel seems to have its own rules; it was a small amount but still frustrating. Restaurant timings were oddly restrictive—the kitchen closes 5–7 pm with no tea or coffee even on request, never mentioned at check‑in. On the 12th, despite dinner hours advertised as 8–10 pm, the chef didn’t show until 8:30, so dinner was delayed to 8:45. Across the rest of our week in Nubra, Hunder, and Mann village—at far simpler homestays—staff were consistently warm and helpful. This hotel was the one exception, and it’s unfortunate because the property itself has real potential.

The cleanliness and interiors are good; the service could be better.
