The hotel sits in a great spot, and the building has a lot of character, but the bedroom doesn’t get much natural light.

The dining room needs a makeover: the seats are ripped and worn, the wallpaper is peeling and bubbling near the bar.

The reception area was clean. I only booked this hotel to use the pool. I didn't notice it was only open til 6pm. I got there before 6 but was told I couldn't use it as last entry was 4.30pm. this was not mentioned anywhere when I made the booking. The TV in my room didn't work (poor signal), the carpet was stained, the hairdryer only blew cold air. The TV remote didn't have working batteries, not that I needed it after I discovered the TV didn't work. The mattress was so soft it must have been so old. I would never recommend this hotel. I have a local Doubletree which is fabulous, so I don't know how this one is so bad
