“La douche froide après avoir vécu dans d'autres hébergements.”
The beach is relatively close and the bedding is decent, but there’s absolutely no view and the tiny terrace looks out onto a four‑metre‑high concrete wall. The photos are pretty but don’t show the reality; it feels almost monastic. It’s the only place on Rodrigues where the setting is this poor, since most other lodgings there have exceptional surroundings, especially near Gravier, now reachable by a paved road where we found much better calm, comfort and views for less money. The bathroom isn’t separated from the bedroom, offering no privacy. Linens are provided, but you should bring your own soap. You’ll need to keep the windows shut because it’s noisy from morning till night – the road above and neighbors, and the bathroom window faces the shop above with no curtain. If you don’t sail, you’ll have to budget for the neighboring hotel’s lounge. During our six‑day stay we ended up renting another place for three nights (no compensation from Andy) to enjoy a more positive atmosphere on this beautiful island.
