The pub was great, close to Oxford and Didcot. I was very happy with the location and could drop by the tap after check‑in and get sorted, which was a great way to end the day. I’d book again.

The hosts were fantastic and very accommodating. The food was excellent and the atmosphere relaxing. The room was a bit small and dated, but it did the job.

The hotel sits just 15 minutes from Oxford, making it easy to reach the Cotswolds, London, Stonehenge, and Bath. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Even though the building is old, the room was well maintained, with heating, clean sheets and towels, and an electric kettle. Breakfast was quite generous. We didn’t try the restaurant for lunch or dinner, but the menu looked promising. The setting was cozy and surrounded by nature, so we’d definitely return. We’re very allergy‑sensitive, so the carpet in the room caught even a trace of dust; a deep carpet cleaning would be needed more often. Mid‑week breakfast ran from 7 to 9 am, which feels early for a holiday.

The bar and restaurant offered good food with prompt service, helpful staff, and a pleasant vibe. The location was convenient, and the Dog House had a nice garden and patio. The room was clean, though dated, and the bathroom towels were fluffy and fairly new. The downside was that the room was at the front of the Dog House, so it was extremely noisy from traffic all night. The windows didn’t seal well and were single‑glazed, letting in a lot of noise. I managed only three hours of sleep, and it would have been worse if it had been warm and needed ventilation. If booking, try to get a room at the rear of the property.

The room was great- clean and very comfy. The beds were nice. Met with friends for meals during our stay and food was superb. Staff were without exception lovely. Nothing to complain about
