A room was quiet, but we booked a triple and ended up with a double.

The staff were friendly, yet everything else fell short of that friendliness.

The housekeeping staff called reception whenever I needed them, the room was clean except for a live cockroach between the bed and the wall, and the TV and Wi‑Fi worked well. I have a motor disability; I ordered a wheelchair that never arrived, so I had to walk with crutches. Several days before arrival I emailed and called Booking and the hotel to request a ground‑floor room, but no one responded and I was assigned to the third floor (the highest), with no elevator at all (the hotel simply has none). I climbed the last two floors on my own, exhausting and humiliating. No one ever informed me if a room would become available the next day; I had to chase that myself. I ordered breakfast on site (€6.90 for three days), and the front desk told me they would bring it to my room, but no breakfast was served despite repeated requests. The manager refused to provide anything, even though yogurt, compote, bread, butter, jam, orange juice, cake slices (everything except hot drinks) were displayed at reception. The room I had taken had a shower with a seat, but mine did not, so I couldn’t shower for three days. There was no phone in the room to call reception, leaving me completely isolated for three days. No staff ever checked on me, so a medical emergency could have gone unnoticed. No one cared how I got food. At check‑out the same thing happened; I was ignored and no one helped me with my bag. The lovely housekeeper had to take time from her shift to assist me. The isolation was also geographical.

The room was clean, but there were no bath towels, so we had to ask reception for them.
