The hotel sits right in the centre of Wernigerode, a ten‑minute walk from the main station and five minutes from Westerntor station. There’s a great bakery on the ground floor, handy for breakfast. I had to squeeze into the shower; I’m big and the shower door was very narrow.

The location is right in the old town—super! The coffee machine and tea are free, thanks for the coffee when I wake up. It’s very tasty. There’s a fridge in the hallway for cooling drinks. Unfortunately, other guests probably stole our water bottle from the fridge. No parking is available; the old‑town car park charges €8.50 for each day starting from Friday noon until Sunday morning, totaling €25.50. The bed does creak a bit.

The spot is in the city centre, the coffee machine and dishes for breakfast are on the hallway and they wash them too, everything you need is there, check‑in was smooth, the building is very quiet, you can come and go freely. The downside is the street side: the bakery next to and below the room is very loud, and even into the night the traffic is noisy with the window open, which was necessary because the room is small and gets hot on sunny days.

Rooms are generally large with older but decent furniture, the bathroom is small but fully equipped, the city centre location is sensational and the downstairs café offers tasty breakfast options. Getting there by car is not direct; the big parking garage is a 5‑minute walk away, which is inconvenient when you have a lot of luggage.
