I appreciated the location near food restaurants and in the middle of the city; it’s close enough to avoid weekend traffic. The room was clean, but it would be nice if they offered a snack bar for late‑night bites or a light breakfast.

The hotel looks like the pictures show, but the lady at reception seemed unwilling to work there. She came to show my room, removed sweets left in the room and some papers—apparently for guests, since the room was cleaned—so that was odd. The worst cigarette smell I’ve ever encountered was everywhere; the online listing says it’s a no‑smoking facility, yet the on‑site sign says you can smoke in common areas, leaving the room and everything smelling awful. I would never stay here again just for the odor.

The hotel is within walking distance of a variety of food options and a shopping mall, offering good value for money. However, the water supply in the toilet needs upgrading.

“Enjoyed it last visit, enjoyed this visit”

The location is great and the room fits its purpose. The staff are some of the best I’ve met in my half‑a‑century of travel. When I asked the receptionist about a particular meal, she rose from her chair, walked me 150 m to the restaurant, ordered my meal for me before leaving, and that’s why this place has such a high rating. They also own the Jonah Hotel a few doors up, which has a 9 rating. The only downside is the stairs; if that’s an issue, staying next door for a little extra is fine.
