The hosts and all the staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, helpful, and professional. The facilities were excellent and the location wonderful. It’s a beautiful, quiet retreat with easy access to a lovely bay and beach, plus some great bars and restaurants. Nothing to complain about.

We spent eight beautiful days at the Royal Can Maries in San Miguel and felt completely at home. From the moment we arrived, the friendly host couple welcomed us warmly, creating a personal, family‑like vibe that stayed with us throughout our stay. Every morning at breakfast, one of the hosts was present, greeting us in several languages, including German, which was especially pleasant. Even though the hotel was fully booked, it never felt crowded; everything remained quiet, relaxed, and intimate—exactly what we wanted for our holiday. The breakfast itself was delightful; while Booking lists it at €22, the actual price is €16, with extra charges for egg dishes. We appreciated the quality and the story behind the food: the hotel owns its own olive trees, and the olive oil they produce is used to cook the fresh organic eggs each morning. These little touches add to the charm of the place. Our only minor drawback was the bathroom in our room; we had one of the last two rooms, and its bathroom had not yet been renovated, featuring a bathtub for showering, a small sink, and limited storage. It felt a bit unconventional and not quite the standard we expect on vacation. We asked for a room change, but because the hotel was fully booked, that wasn’t possible.

“erg genoten van deze mooie plek.”

Can Maries is a charming, typical Ibizan boutique hotel that looks luxurious yet feels approachable. The sea view is a major perk. The staff were very friendly and the owners flexible. Breakfast was better than average and served in a lovely spot. It’s good to remember that San Miguel lies in a quiet part of the island, so Ibiza city and other tourist spots are a bit farther away – a car is essential.
