When we got there on Friday evening, 4th September 2026, it was clear the place wasn’t suitable for a family: youths were smoking joints outside, water leaked from a neighbour, and the overall vibe was uncomfortable. After getting the keys, we struggled with the lock and couldn’t open the door; the doorbell looked like an Amazon Ring but didn’t respond. I eventually found the right combination of key and handle turns to open the front door, but then couldn’t remove the key. The owner tried to help remotely via the Wi‑Fi doorbell but couldn’t resolve the issue; it took over 10 minutes to remove the key, which only increased our unease. During the conversation, she said she wouldn’t be able to visit until later, but it became clear she would be sharing the space with us, which was new and unwelcome news and forced me to cancel. A quick look showed a basic but clean environment, but the two bedrooms lacked internal locks, which worried my daughter a lot. I had understood from the start that it was someone’s home, but I expected exclusive use for the weekend, so this was a deal‑breaker.

Maggie was friendly and helpful; I enjoyed using the kitchen to make breakfast, lunch to take out, and microwaving dinner. The location is good, with three bus options to reach my destination, but the stairs to the property might deter some people.

The contact with Magali was very easy and she gave good advice. She speaks French and English. She welcomed us well and stayed in touch throughout the stay and even afterward to check that everything went smoothly. We’ll come back :)
