The staff were fantastic, especially given the late check‑in due to the Shinkansen schedule; their courteous service made the stay comfortable.

Parking was free through the next day’s sightseeing, which was great. The area around the hotel can feel a bit unsafe for women walking and drinking at night, so you should plan your dinner ahead.

The hotel faces Tenmonkan and is just a short walk from the first street; there’s a FamilyMart on the first floor and a food street in the basement of the neighboring building. It’s the only nightlife area in town, so you won’t run out of drinks even late at night. The retro feel of the entertainment district is bright and doesn’t feel dangerous. A taxi stand is right in front, and the room interiors are clean and stylish. The entrance feels luxurious, the price is low, and the cost‑performance is high. The outside isn’t noisy at all. Breakfast is reportedly tasty (as told by a girl named Garba). The big screen in front of the hotel shows a beautiful video about Kagoshima’s islands, which I watched in full—there’s a desire to show it at the airport and elsewhere. On the downside, the restaurant closes at 9 pm even on weekdays (though that’s understandable). On rainy days you’ll need an umbrella because there’s no arcade side. The location at the entrance of the entertainment district might deter some guests, as the food street is one block away.
