The location was convenient for our needs and the room was tidy and clean once we moved away from the main area, yet the overall vibe and cleanliness of the motel were off‑putting right from the moment I entered; the reception and main motel area smelled and looked filthy, the car park and stairs were worse, and the restaurant advertised in the centre of the motel seemed to have been closed for ages, which explains its poor cleanliness and odor.

The hotel is close to the train station, and although the rooms are relatively clean, the building is aging and needs some updates; it’s acceptable for a night or two when traveling for work.

It was convenient for where we wanted to be, but we couldn’t have a meal in the room because there was no cutlery, not enough glasses or cups for the three of us, and we had to bring our own tea, coffee, and other supplies.

I appreciated how close the hotel was to the spot we had to be early the next morning, and even though the building is old, the bathroom felt fresh after its renovation. The extra pillows and blankets in the room really added to our comfort. On the downside, the TV wouldn’t connect to Wi‑Fi, so we couldn’t use Netflix or other streaming services, but that didn’t matter much since we were mainly watching the Brownlow Medal ceremony on a local channel.
