This mountain hut is in excellent condition, with great location and amenities. The music blasting from the speakers felt unnecessary to me.

“Excellent experience in the heart of Šar Mountain”

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. Everything was exceptionally clean and well maintained. One detail not clearly mentioned on Booking is that the bathroom is shared among five rooms, but that’s expected for this type of traditional mountain lodge and was fine for us. The views are stunning, the vibe is peaceful, relaxing, and authentic. Being a family‑run business, you feel the care and effort they put into everything. The food was excellent—breakfast was delicious, and both lunch and dinner were fantastic. They cook homemade meals with many ingredients sourced from their own garden and farm, so the salads and other dishes feel even more authentic. We also went horse riding to Plat, which was a perfect experience; Betim was an excellent host—kind, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the ride. There is an extra €30 charge for transport from Popova Šapka to the accommodation because you need a 4x4 to reach the property due to the mountain terrain. For us it was worth it and part of the adventure. Overall, this was one of the most wonderful and authentic experiences we’ve had in Šar Mountain. If you want to disconnect, enjoy incredible mountain views, eat homemade food, experience local life, and be hosted by a family that genuinely cares, I highly recommend staying here. We would definitely come back!

“Beautiful stay in the mountains.”

The location is beautiful, the fresh food is tasty, the staff are nice, and it’s easy to access great hikes like Plat. The room is cozy with blankets and a radiator. If you love hiking and nature, this is a perfect stay! I’d also suggest the staff lift your car up to the accommodation if you don’t have a 4x4; we had a rental and didn’t want to risk damage, and it cost about 30 € for the return lift. Suggestions: bring earplugs because it isn’t soundproof. Also, it would help if staff provided clear information on breakfast times, activities, dinner, etc.

The location for disconnecting is exceptional, the meat is impressive and good, and it’s recommended for a break. Nothing else.
