The owner was friendly and the large, newly renovated room was functional. The restaurant was good and the old building had a picturesque feel. The only downside was that rooms facing the road were a bit noisy in the morning.
Breakfast was fabulous, with a huge selection of delicious items, especially the countless homemade cakes. The owner was very friendly, and even with children they were very kind and eager to meet their needs.

The gentleman who runs the hotel and serves breakfast—though I forgot his name—was incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel welcome despite my limited Italian, with grace and good humour. I would highly recommend this hotel, which is located a few kilometres outside Volterra in Saline Di Volterra, where car parking is much easier. The evening meal service could be chaotic, and we were unlucky to sit next to smokers each night. The restaurant is beside a busy road, so traffic noise is audible.

The chefs and all other staff, probably family members, were always very friendly and helpful. The food at the attached restaurant was excellent, very good value for money, and I would gladly return anytime. There was nothing to complain about.
