The host was always present, friendly, and smiling, and the entry codes for the building and apartment were sent in advance. However, the sink was very small—washing anything seemed impossible—there was a cramped bathroom, and the renovation was old.

I arrived a few minutes after 19:00 and found no staff on site; WhatsApp said I had to “come back tomorrow” – far from a perfect start to my Balkan trip. I then had to find another, better‑located accommodation for my time in Belgrade, which was not very exciting, having to deal with that during the trip. The “later” check‑in was requested via Booking.

“Terrible, disgusting staff”

We arrived only 5–7 minutes after check‑in time and reached out immediately. There was no reception, no staff, and no clear instructions on how to check in. Another guest was also left waiting outside without an access code. Despite explaining the situation, the property simply replied, “Come tomorrow.” Consequently, we were left outside at night and had to urgently find somewhere else to stay. The property looks beautiful in the photos, but in reality it is an old building with poor living conditions, no sound insulation, and very little comfort. The actual accommodation is completely different from what the pictures suggest. To make matters worse, the property charges a €35 cancellation fee despite leaving guests without accommodation in the middle of the night. This treatment was completely unacceptable. We strongly recommend avoiding this place.

“As a place to NOT stay, this is perfect. If you want a bed for the night, look elsewhere!”

They found alternative accommodation when they denied me access to their property, but only after the deadline they'd given me to do this, by which time I'd already booked somewhere else. On booking, they accepted late check-in; on the day of arrival, they refused this, meaning that I could not stay there at all. They then denied that I had a booking with them at all. While they found me another place, they communicated this to me with just a photo, no explanatory text. When I asked for compensation because I'd had to check into a hotel, they couldn't understand why I was asking!
