“Krásné místo v srdci Šumavy”
The guesthouse sits in a beautiful, quiet spot surrounded by forests. Inside, there’s a restaurant and a breakfast hall. Outside, you can sit in the covered garden area, which supposedly has no staff, but you can order inside and the staff will bring your order out to where you’re seated. We couldn’t understand why they claim to “reduce” quality by saying they don’t serve outside when they actually bring everything outside. When we were there with a group of friends, the weather was lovely and no one was inside. If they didn’t serve outside, they would have nothing to do in the restaurant. The rooms are spacious and furnished appropriately for the price; expect a bit of retro charm, not luxury, but it’s fine for a modest group. Everything was clean and fragrant. The staff tries hard, occasionally struggling with language barriers, but they do what they can to make you feel comfortable. Breakfast was abundant and tasty. The parking lot in front of the guesthouse is very spacious and easily accessible. We used it as an entry and exit point for our trip to Europe, staying twice for one night each during a ten‑day break with a group of more than ten people. The guesthouse clearly cuts costs on staff, so the restaurant closes very early in the middle of the main summer season, when most adults are still awake and there’s nothing to do nearby. The kitchen stops cooking early, and staff lack motivation for sales. They bluntly tell guests they need to go to bed so they can work again in the morning, especially when some are sick. The staff simply bring those non‑commercial, socialist habits you can still experience when traveling in Eastern Europe.
