Tiny Lodges for2 - Kempenbos

The reception welcomed us warmly. The house was nicely decorated, the bathroom and kitchen were comfortable, and there was plenty of cookware. The covered terrace was fun, and the nearby hotel had a nice pool. The forested surroundings were lovely. However, some areas could have been cleaner; there was dust in the kitchen, a moldy coffee bag in the machine, and a small toy rolled under the TV cabinet. The cabinet should have been moved and cleaned behind it. I don’t think short‑term guests are expected to do this, but the owner should. The terrace table still had a dirty ashtray full of cigarette butts.

The surroundings were peaceful. The back room of the house, with a table and chairs, was perfect for a fresh dinner. Everything was in good condition and clean. The pool and children’s play area were also appreciated.

The spot was cozy, snug, and wonderful in nature. It was messy, with broken items (bathroom). A plastic pot on the terrace was upside down, which was annoying. While cooking in the evening, the pan and spatulas were sticky from grease, so I had to wash them first before use. I mentioned this to reception, and they said they would address it. I learned that this is a private lodge that’s rented out, so who ensures it stays in good shape?
