I felt that guests were given second priority to the restaurant, and the staff should pay more attention to guests.

“Overall very nice, food included (though costed separately) in review”

We stayed mainly for the restaurant – the food was amazing, especially the belly pork that I’ll remember forever; we hope to return next year. The bathroom was a bit grubby, probably because of refurbishment, but that won’t stop us from staying again unless the costs become prohibitive after the renovation, which I hope won’t happen.

“Very Disappointing”

It was alright with a fair choice of food; no fresh fruit. The whole room looked tired with tatty paintwork. The floor behind the toilet was dirty. The shower gel wire tray was rusty. The rubber at the bottom of the patio door was broken. The pub carpet was dirty in places. The door to the kitchen area in the restaurant was scratched and dirty.

The hotel’s location was really good for the sights we wanted to see, the breakfast was nice with several options, and the staff were very sweet and helpful. The hotel sits on a fairly wide road, but you hardly notice the traffic. I think the rooms are too old, but that’s a matter of taste. We stayed two nights and I was actually disappointed that the rooms weren’t cleaned and the towels weren’t changed between the two days. We stayed over a weekend, but on Monday morning there was a delivery truck and other activity with pick‑ups and deliveries that disturbed the early morning, not sure if that matters on other weekdays, but it was a minor issue.
