We liked the lounge. The room was clean and correct but not more. Overall, the greeting, atmosphere, and mood did not appeal to us. The garden and swimming pool were not maintained. It had better days before.

The room was very spacious with a sitting area and a huge comfortable bed, and breakfast at the Bistro was excellent. The Wi‑Fi was not good at all.

The hotel offers large, comfortable rooms in a single building, matching expectations for this type of accommodation. Even though we stayed in winter, the pool looked inviting, and there’s a nearby common lounge with a bar. A short walk (a few hundred meters) takes you to a self‑catering cottage set among vineyards and a guava plantation; I found it very comfortable, the fireplace handy, and it has its own pool with mountain views. The cottage has everything needed for a decent self‑catering stay, though the pantry off the kitchen lacked running water for the sink, washing machine, or dishwasher, which was odd. If I had to nitpick, the cottage could use some TLC: the verandah pergola was rotting, there were a few damp issues, and none of the doors were very windproof, but none of that detracted from the stay. Flies were a problem, coming from dropped guava fruit in the orchard and were incessant. Breakfast was served at a restaurant down the hill, easily reachable from the cottage but a longer walk from the hotel rooms; it wasn’t difficult or steep, but elderly guests had trouble walking the distance with dodgy hips and knees. The menu offered cooked food options, very decent portions, but cereals, fresh fruit, and yogurt were missing. It also took a while to prepare, though the restaurant had a lovely cozy fireplace and friendly staff. The restaurant only opens at 8, so no early starts.

Choosing what you want at the restaurant was very nice, and everything was very good for what I paid.
