Fairly cheap. Difficult to find and gain access. Towels were unclean (I used my own). Bedding could have been cleaner. Bed was uncomfortable. Generally messy house. Shower leaked when off

“False advertising unsafe do not stay here”

Check‑in time requests were ignored; I had to call to get someone to let me in. The shower was moldy, the back door of the property was left wide open, I was given the wrong key to the room, and when I requested a key that would actually let me lock the room, they promised one would arrive but never did—so I never felt safe leaving my belongings there. The customer service was terrible and the experience awful; do not book here.

It was a typical English house, and the room size was nice. However, there was no communication from the owner—he wasn't there when I arrived, another guest opened the door, and I had to call the owner to find out where my keys were. Wi‑Fi didn't work, there was only one towel and no toilet paper in the bathroom. The room was very hot because of the heatwave (not the owner's fault), and there was no A/C or fan, so avoid it when it gets too hot in summer.

“Very disappointing!”

When I first arrived I couldn’t tell the property was a site because nothing indicated it. I was told someone would bring me the keys, and although they did, it felt odd that they seemed to run multiple other properties in the area like a family business instead of something more professional. The room was horrendously hot, one window wouldn’t open so I had to keep the fan on while awake but switch it off at night because of the noise. The room wasn’t made up properly; a spare mattress had just been left on one side of the bed and there was used rubbish on the floor. The shower only gave cold water the first morning and then didn’t work at all. Below the only window that opened was a smoking area, so cigarette smoke drifted straight into my room and it stank until I asked the smoker to stop (the smoking policy needs to be changed and clarified). The afternoon before I checked out, another guest was being shown their room and mentioned it was also horrendously hot, and a staff member jokingly said they could cook a pizza in the heat! I will never stay there again and will insist on a refund. I would discourage anyone from staying there.

We booked here last minute because our original hotel had closed, and since it was a bank holiday places were limited. We arrived at Mary Green and were greeted by our host. A couple of issues were fixed immediately, and a fan was provided because it was very hot. The accommodation is budget, with a shared bathroom, but it was very clean and comfortable. It was a bit further out of town than we had planned, but only a 25‑minute walk. To be fair, it was budget accommodation but it exceeded our expectations.
