I couldn't stay there because the hotel canceled my booking at the last minute, so I had to scramble to find another place.

“Horrible. The staff are unpleasant, rude and inhospitable and don't show basic courtesy to guests.”

The staff at the reception were very hostile to us after learning we were an unmarried couple. We booked the hotel by mistake as "no unmarried couple allowed" was mentioned way below the list of details on the hotel's page (if it's a dealbreaker, at least make it the first thing you mention on the landing page so people notice it and don't make the mistake of booking and going through this torture). We got to know about it only after reaching the hotel. The staff simply said there's another treebo hotel which allows unmarried couples but refused to share any details of that hotel and shirked responsibility of even assisting us with the relocation by simply saying we have to approach to make the request. When we asked for a refund, they had no answer and were responding to us condescendingly, rudely and judgementally because we were an unmarried couple. Finally, the Treebo customer service personnel (after an hour or so, half an hour longer than they had promised) responded with steps to shift us to their other hotel - which was not nearby as this hotel's staff had vaguely mentioned but 10kms away. We had no choice but to take it
