“I expected more from 4 stars”
The location was fine, but I can’t understand how they call this a 4‑star hotel. It was so hot, there was no air conditioning, only one fan, and we couldn’t open the windows, so we didn’t sleep well.

The Mercure Saint Lô Centre is situated 500 metres from the train station, next to the river and opposite historic city walls. Guest rooms feature TVs, telephones, and en suite facilities. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi, a restaurant serving traditional French cuisine, a bar, and a summer terrace. Nearby attractions include Notre-Dame Church and the largest horse farm in France.

Breakfast was perfect, plentiful, tasty, and made with quality products. We had a meeting in Saint‑Lô with someone who scammed us on site, leaving a bitter memory of the area, but we found comfort at your hotel in every way. I was a little disappointed that the restaurant wasn’t open as advertised online.

What stood out most was the breakfast and the attentiveness of the person who organized it; despite being busy, she was very responsive to our needs—thank you, Madame. The only gripe, which the hotel can’t control, was the near‑invisibility of the building because of scaffolding on the façade, forcing us to pass by twice before spotting the hotel.

I found the place smack‑in‑the‑middle of Normandy, perfect for day trips, and Mont Saint Michel is just a 1.15 h drive away. By 2027 the renovation will be finished with air conditioning, and the staff were friendly. The only downside was the stairs you have to climb before you even reach the hotel – at 71 m and 81 m that was a bit disappointing.
