“Ein wunderschöner Ort mit viel Liebe zum Detail”
We were lodged in the Cottage Anbau, beautifully furnished. Sue lovingly prepared breakfast, and it tasted sensationally good. It was a great starting point for Hobbiton. The Wi‑Fi didn’t work properly. A USB‑charged alarm clock would have been a nice addition ;-)
The cottage was well stocked and clean. We loved the relaxed atmosphere and our walk through their garden. We highly recommend Villa Walton

Location, hospitality, excellent facilities, outstanding breakfast, high quality, plenty of space in the cottage.
“Very clean & comfortable, fair way from food, etc. DIY breakfast.”
After a three‑day journey we wanted clean, comfortable accommodation and a nice breakfast to start our day. It was pricey, but it seemed to fit the bill. I guess 2 out of 3 isn’t bad!! The room was exceptional, as were the grounds (maybe repaint the peeling outside tub!). We slept very well, which we needed; breakfast was DIY, bacon, eggs & bits. Absolutely zonked, so we opted for the fruit, yogurt, juice, boiled a couple of eggs for later. All good, just looked forward to having a cooked breakfast! Did it spoil the stay? No, but having expected it would have raised it to exceptional. Worth noting, Villa Walton is a good way north of Matamata; we missed the turn and had to backtrack several K. DIY breakfast. Lovely ingredients, just too tired to cook. The added credit‑card surcharge was disappointing – if I’d known, I’d have paid cash. An already pricey stay was hiked.
