“We didn’t stay, we moved elsewhere.”

Front of house and bar staff all very friendly and helpful, bar was nice and restaurant looked ok although we didn’t eat. The rooms were not clean, poorly furnished and slightly smelly

“Great location, breakfast and staff but room cleanliness needs improving”

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast area was clean and offered good food. The bed was really comfortable, and the room came with quality toiletries and a nice tea selection. The location was great and there was parking available. However, the room itself wasn’t very clean; the bath needed replacing anyway, and it looked like it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned for a while, with numerous public hairs visible. The soap holder on the shower pole was dusty, as was the wood around the bathroom mirror, and a bulb was out in the set above the mirror. The bedside lamp base was thick with dust, and the remote control was grubby.

“Great location and hotel, more information about arrival times would have improved our overall score.”

The view was great, the location was perfect, and the room felt very comfortable with all the amenities. We had a lovely stay overall, but there was a hiccup with the check‑in times. We were told that arrivals after 20:30 required a phone call to open the door, yet we arrived at 20:15, everything was still locked, and no one answered the phone. We eventually managed to get in, but it wasn’t the warm welcome we expected. Parking was scarce, so we had to head to the train station, and it seemed odd that we were asked to decide on breakfast the night before.

The hotel sits right next to everything you need, and the staff were all friendly—definitely a solid spot to stay.
