I was thrilled when everything lined up perfectly! The spacious room felt like a full apartment right in the city center, and the host was incredibly friendly and helpful. The kitchen was fully equipped—except for a microwave, which I didn’t miss. Since our main goal was the mountains and we returned late, having a kitchen was a huge convenience, and we cooked there every day. Breakfast was included and just a five‑minute walk away at the red hotel. The selection was limited, but that didn’t matter; it was plenty for breakfast. I also liked the coffee in the thermos. A small parking spot for cars is directly opposite the pension, across the street, which is very handy. A tiny grocery shop is also across the street. All the top spots—thermal baths, tram, promenade, elevator tower—are within walking distance. When checking in, you receive a guest card that offers discounts on city transport; for example, we didn’t pay extra for the tram to the mountains or the ferry to the station, and the elevator had a 0.5 € discount per person. If I ever come back to Bad Schandau, I’ll only consider this pension—it’s truly great! I felt right at home there.
