The hotel was close to the area we wanted to explore, but construction workers staying there got drunk, caused a lot of noise, and disturbed other guests all night until the police had to be called—very dangerous and upsetting. The night staff handled the situation very well, though.

The only thing we liked was the proximity to Blue Ridge downtown. The old building was actually nasty: a crack in the bathtub, mold on the shower curtain, dusty appliances and coffee maker, unclean kitchen faucets, half‑made beds with clean sheets, a door with a huge crack that let you see outside, a view of a parking lot behind a grocery store, a mini fridge without shelves that was busted and froze over.
