The room was very clean, had a comfortable double bed with a good mattress, fresh and excellent bed linen, and all the appliances—TV, fridge, hairdryer, shower—worked perfectly, so I was very happy with the room itself. However, the room’s location was inconvenient: it was on the third floor facing a large terrace shared by all guests, and the windows opened onto that terrace. Because of the view from the terrace, I couldn’t keep the curtains open and had to stay with them closed, which was uncomfortable; I also couldn’t open the windows because people were smoking on the terrace and the smoke drifted straight into my room. Even at night I didn’t feel safe leaving the windows open, and the large windows made it easy for someone to climb over the sill from the terrace into my room. Thus, while the cleanliness, comfort, and facilities were great, the lack of privacy, cigarette smoke, and security concerns made it impossible to enjoy fresh air or natural light.
