“Прекрасный выбор для первой поездки в Шанхай: рядом метро с прямой веткой в центр и в аэропорт Пудун, чисто и тихо, а гл”
The staff are the main thing. My elderly parents were visiting China for the first time and spoke neither Chinese nor English. An employee named Mei and the concierge team answered every WeChat message, used a translator, and handled everything we asked for: they brought power adapters to the room twice, made cards with the hotel’s name and address for the parents to show the taxi driver, explained how to get to the metro and back, gave tips on how to reach the Shanghai Tower, and helped with the shuttle and transfer. When we requested something once, they did it immediately, no reminders needed. For guests who don’t speak the local language, that level of support is worth more than any room amenities. The location is very convenient: the metro station is nearby, line 2 goes both to the city centre and directly to Pudong Airport without transfers, and there’s a free shuttle. The room was clean, quiet, and everything worked well. The only real drawback was that almost no one at reception spoke English or Russian—communication went through WeChat translators, though the staff tried hard and solved every issue. The room was small, and we had to request power adapters and a fridge separately because they weren’t initially provided.
