“Perfect location, lovely dog and family, good budget stay.”

The spot was great for the beach and nearby restaurants/shops, tucked into a side lane but easy to reach on foot. The air conditioning worked well and the dog was friendly. The bathroom wasn’t great, but it was functional and had good water pressure and hot water.

“Great place, with even better hosts, would recommend.”

The property sits up a lovely trail, a bit off the beaten path, which made it incredibly quiet and private. The hosts were very welcoming, messaging me from the morning of check‑in to ensure a safe arrival and offering advice on the best transport options. The room was clean, had a comfy bed and plenty of storage, with efficient air conditioning and an overhead fan that suited all temperature preferences. The bathroom was standard but towels were provided. Breakfast was offered in the morning for a reasonable fee. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it. Nothing of note.

The room was very spacious and clean, with many shelves for clothes and luggage. The outside sitting area was nice. The bed was comfortable, the air‑conditioning worked well, and there was a good mosquito net around the bed. It was only a short walking distance from the beach, restaurants, and shops. We expected some shared kitchen facilities as mentioned in the description, but it was a little hard to find a solution with the staff.

“An exceptional budget room in a great location.”

The room is very spacious with plenty of shelving for unpacking. The bed was very large, comfortable, and well netted. The room had both a fan and air‑con. The shower was warm and powerful. It is located only a short walk to the beach and restaurants. What’s not to like for the great price? We’d definitely stay again if returning to Unawatuna. Nothing.

“Budget friendly comfortable and close to the beach”

The location is close to the beach (though in a narrow street, it is actually very close). The room is very big and spacious with enough space to store luggage. It’s clean, comfortable, and the staff are nice. The garden is beautiful and there’s a friendly dog. The shower is good. The price is very cheap for what you get. Overall I was very satisfied with the room for this price. It can get a bit suffocating in the room because it’s dark and the windows cannot be opened (at least as I understand). The bathroom gets really wet after a shower and it’s hard to dry. Outside the property there’s a lot of garbage and it feels unhealthy and unhygienic, but it’s not the property’s fault (although cleaning it would really help the image). The cons were not so important for me but they can matter for someone else.
