“Bravo Gigi!!!! Tu e ' un vero Pugliese!!!”
I was a bit worried at first because the place was a shared apartment with other tourists, but after staying I was very satisfied. The host, Peter “Gigi”, is a great guy and even though my Italian isn’t perfect we understood each other immediately. He’s a typical Pugliese, very courteous and helpful, and he cooks like an Italian mamma every day with passion. Together with him and a few roommates we attended a festival. The location is perfect if you like a rocky beach – only 2 minutes walking with a swimsuit and towel you’re at the famous “Grotta Verde” in southern Italy. There were no confrontations at all. In the evenings it’s very quiet, even in August you can sleep well in the air‑conditioned bedroom. A washing machine is available, but I never needed to do laundry because of the extreme heat. In the morning a 2‑minute walk gets you a cheap, typical Italian breakfast – cappuccino and a stuffed pastry! There are several restaurants within a few minutes. I can’t think of any negatives, except that sometimes the bathroom might be occupied, which can happen if you have a family in the apartment. Otherwise, to shop you need to drive a few kilometres to Andrano in the town; Gigi would have taken me shopping if I had asked. Nice neighbours as well. I can recommend this accommodation with the best memories.
