On 19 September 2026 I booked a one‑night stay with breakfast for myself and my dog at Hotel Kutina in Croatia, which is advertised as pet‑friendly and states a possible pet fee. I had no problem paying the fee, as I’ve stayed in many pet‑friendly hotels before. After checking in, I left my 5‑year‑old, 7‑kg, calm, well‑trained dog alone in the room while I ran some errands. When I was about to leave, the receptionist told me the dog could not stay alone and had to be supervised, saying a dog is like a child and cannot be left unattended, and even suggested leaving the dog in the car. This was unacceptable and irresponsible, especially since leaving a dog in a car can be illegal in some places. I had to leave the hotel, was not refunded, and had to find new accommodation at short notice, disrupting my plans and incurring extra costs. The staff’s conduct was highly unprofessional, and if the hotel truly has a no‑alone‑pets policy, it should be clearly stated in the listing before booking.

The bed and pillow were very comfortable, which is very important to me, but the room was very dusty and full of stones.

I stopped by for a night, parking was available, the welcome was friendly, the bed was comfy, breakfast was varied and tasty, and the dinner on site featured delicious dishes.
