The spot is unbeatable, right in the middle of Ximen, but the rooms were awful: the blanket was filthy, the entire room and bathroom were dirty, and the price was only moderate. It was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in Taiwan.

The location was fantastic—central, with loads of nearby attractions, and the MRT station was just a short walk, making Taipei travel a breeze. Yet the room’s cleanliness fell flat: hair littered several spots, the sheets were stained, mold showed up in the bathroom, and the shower splashed everywhere, leaving a wet floor. The room looked dated and barely kept up with basic upkeep, especially disappointing because the online photos made it look far nicer than the reality.
