The balcony does give you a decent view of the castle, but everything else was a nightmare. The pictures online are totally misleading—the building is half‑ruined, the room was filthy, and the manager didn’t even have a bed ready because he “forgot” my reservation. To top it off, he woke me up at 7 am to collect payment after claiming he’d tried to rouse me at 1 am the night before. I can’t recommend this place at all.

The hostel felt spotless and the owner was genuinely welcoming. We spent evenings on the terrace soaking up an amazing view, and everything stayed tidy throughout our stay. It was a pleasant, hassle‑free visit.

I have to warn other solo female travelers: the host’s behavior was completely inappropriate and made me leave a day early. He kept making personal comments, asked invasive questions about my love life, suggested I “consider an Albanian man,” and even tried to move my bed despite my refusals. After multiple unwanted offers to share meals and a bizarre gift of his watch, I felt unsafe and needed to get out.
