Maz and Alan welcomed us with such hospitality – it was amazing. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of fruit. They made no effort too small to keep us worry‑free. Both the separate house and the pool were comfortable. The beach is close, as are a few nice walking routes. Unlike Kewarra and Palm Cove, this place is a true oasis of calm. I can’t think of anything that would be a drawback.

“Hospitality par excellence!!”

The breakfasts live up to the hype and were a real highlight, especially when we joined host Alan for kippers—Maz was away so the smell was avoided. The room was comfortable, Maz and Alan were friendly, the garden was lovely, and they offered great advice and help with outings; Maz even did laundry for us while we were three weeks into a seven‑week trip. The only downside was having to leave early to head to Adelaide.

The stay was a real treat – the owner was always smiling and super helpful, and the breakfasts were delicious. The spot’s location is spot‑on for exploring the area, and the vibe is calm and friendly. The place was spotlessly clean. The only hiccup was the room’s size; squeezing two suitcases in was a bit tight, but we didn’t mention it when booking.

Everything matched the listing – clean, fully equipped, and even more. For my first trip to Cairns, my partner and I felt right at home thanks to Maz and Al, who went above and beyond to keep us comfortable and budget‑friendly. Maz’s breakfast was a highlight, especially since she catered to my celiac needs. We even made a new friend, Lee, during our communal meals. Highly recommend for both short and long stays, especially if you’re new to the area.
