Hotel San Telmo

“A cosy, welcoming hotel in a charming street but just be aware of steep streets in Santa Cruz.”

I enjoyed a lovely room in this well‑organized, friendly, and quaint hotel, a stark contrast to the “industrial” tourist hotels with over a thousand beds; the outdoor areas were delightful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. However, I’m no longer young and didn’t appreciate the effort required to walk up the steep cobbled streets, so I used taxis all the time, which proved efficient, not expensive, and let me see parts of Santa Cruz I would never have seen otherwise.

The room, its views, its spaciousness and décor, its good equipment, the location, the breakfast, and the staff were all excellent. The bathroom in the room needs renovation and to be brought up to the standard of the rest of the hotel.

The staff were extremely kind and there were many facilities such as coffee, water, a sweet treat, and fruit always available; the welcome was always very friendly and the location is excellent. The only drawback is that there is only one soap bar for two days and only generic shower gel, shampoo, and soap.

“Excellent location but some may find difficult due to hills and steps. Lovely hotel.”

The location is great, just a 5‑minute walk from the main area of town. The hotel owner was really good, and the room was really good, comfortable, and clean. Nothing else to mention.
