“Well situated warm and friendly”

The car park was convenient, Sunday lunch in the restaurant was good, and breakfast was fine. There is some noise from airplanes, but it wasn’t a problem.

“Great place to stay”

We’ve stayed at the Rose & Crown many times and always had a good experience. The town location is great and the staff are friendly and polite. The bar area is always lively and has a nice old‑world charm, as does the rest of the pub. The food is excellent, so you definitely need to book a table for dinner. The only downside was the room: we were given a very small room and felt the price for such a small space was expensive. In the past we’ve always had a decent‑sized room with plenty of space around the bed, but this time it seemed they squeezed a small double bed into a tiny space, forcing one of us to scramble over the bed to use the bathroom at night.

The historic building has lots of character. The location in the centre of town and near Tatton Park is great, and the room was comfortable. We ate in the restaurant both nights, and the food and wine selection were very good. Breakfast was also good with plenty of choice. On the direct flight path from Manchester Airport, be prepared for noise from planes overhead every few minutes starting at 6 am. The shower in room 6 needs replacing because it hardly has power, and I would have preferred a walk‑in shower.
