Palm Royale Cairns is set amongst 2.5 acres of beautiful tropical gardens and offers rooms with a private balcony and pool or garden views. It features a main lagoon-style pool and a lap pool. Guests enjoy free WiFi. All rooms are air-conditioned and feature soothing, Mediterranean-inspired décor. Each room has a TV, a refrigerator and tea and coffee making facilities. The Palm Royale is just 10 minutes’ drive from the Cairns city centre, and 15 minutes’ drive from Cairns Airport.

The room, the pool, and the overall setting were great. The only downside was the lack of breakfast and that it’s a bit far from the city center.

The rooms are spotless and towels are changed frequently. Unfortunately, there were ants on the balcony, a gecko slipped into the room, and a cockroach was seen.

We’ve been coming back almost every year for our Japan transfers for about 18 years now, and we always get the same room, which remains consistently comfortable. The in‑room internet was recently upgraded and works really well. I only wish rooms 215 and 216 had a small microwave.

The rooms were spacious and clean, daily room service was very convenient, and the pool was huge, allowing us to swim comfortably with a pleasant temperature. We would have liked a bit more flexibility for early check‑in; when we asked, the front desk staff was blunt and didn’t even check if an earlier arrival was possible.
