The hotel is very modern and pretty, and the floor‑to‑ceiling windows with river views let you enjoy time inside the room and feel comfortable; the downside is that there was almost nothing nearby, so you had to drive to get a drink or dinner.

I’ve stayed at Hotel Folgosa before; breakfast is good, the beds are comfortable, and cleanliness is impeccable, but the real strength of this hotel is the staff’s professionalism—courteous, attentive, and discreet.

A charming and supremely cozy hotel, right in the middle of the Douro Valley, with staff who were truly welcoming, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The room was spotless and very comfortable, and the balcony was especially delightful. We had a wonderful time and would love to return!
