The location was very quiet and the property only has two rooms, with lovely hosts and excellent kitchen service, including a tasty breakfast. On the downside, it was one of the pricier options on my trip.

The spot, the room, the very friendly hosts, the great dinner and breakfast – all were spot on; just a single egg or scrambled eggs would have made it perfect.

The tiny mountain inn sits above Magglingen, reachable by cable car from Biel, and the room is in a small annex that houses only two rooms. It’s warmly furnished with a fireplace that looks like an open hearth, and the French bed is very comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful, French‑style with croissants, baguette, good ham and cheese – simply great. Unfortunately we didn’t check if the restaurant was open on our day of arrival, a rest day, but it was still lovely up there.
