The cleaning was spot‑on, but a severe downpour had the lobby flooded and the lights out. I got a call at 13:00 on the day of arrival asking to cancel; after negotiating, I still stayed as planned, using the emergency stairs to reach my room. I understood the hotel’s circumstances, yet the notice felt a touch delayed.
