The room design was outstanding—very comfortable—and the private onsen with its open‑air layout was perfect. The food was unique and the service excellent, with a different variety each night. I couldn’t find much to dislike, though dinner did take a while to finish.

The place was incredibly calm and picturesque. The private in‑house bath was a delight after a hectic time in Osaka/Tokyo, and free light refreshments were a nice touch. It’s not a fully traditional ryokan, but it strikes a good balance between a conventional hotel and a ryokan. Communication about meal options is limited, so be sure to let staff know in advance if you want to book. Also, lower‑floor rooms might not offer the same scenic views.

The onsen experience was great, both public and private. The room was huge, well‑designed, and the interior was lovely. Dinner and breakfast were nice, even though I’m a picky eater—though that’s my own issue. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Extras included a 90‑minute full‑body massage, which was perfect after a week of walking, and they even sell tattoo covers at the front desk for those who need them. No dislikes.
