The location was great, close to everything we needed, but there were a ton of black bugs in the bathroom that seemed to have come from somewhere, and the room next to 33 had a terrible odor from all that stuff hanging out in front of the room.

The location was perfect. Close to where we wanted to be in Melbourne - the zoo, the city and to the venue for the wedding we were attending in Brunswick. This property is a traditional "motel" with parking out front of the room in a courtyard layout which we generally like as it suits our travel style. Unfortunately, this property is old and tired, but more importantly it appears to be unkept. The forecourt is messy with miscellaneous stuff dumped all around, the front garden/grass area is overgrown and the signage is faded. The main courtyard area is equally messy and unkept. A little time and effort with little cost would make a huge difference to the overall appeal. The room was equally tired and although it had had some refit in the last 10 years, it is cheap and worn out. The chair in the room was broken but clean, the bed was clean but the mattress worn out and sagging, the vanity area was clean but worn and damaged and the walls needed paint. The bathroom was clean enough but also tired and needing renovation. The light fitting worked but was home to an ants nest. The toilet and shower were clean and looked OK, but the drain in the shower was slow and that always suggests some issues in the overall drainage that need attention but are overlooked. Similar to the drain in the vanity that gurgled when draining. This property could be so much nicer if it got a little love a attention. Overall, it was just OK but the price was high for OK. I have just returned from a month in Europe staying in 30 different hotels, B&Bs and motels and all were better than this and most at a better price. This property could do so much better if the owners put a little effort in. Having said this, the carpark was full most nights and maybe I'm out of touch with what makes the grade in this part of town

There was nothing good to say; there was no place to wash dishes or cups, no sink—only a small hand basin with mold in the shower, the air‑conditioning didn’t work, no complete cutlery set, the bed was very poor and had no support, and the only redeeming factor was the location.

The sheets were lovely, clean, and the location was great, but the air conditioner in the neighboring room ran all night, so I had to imagine an emergency helicopter; it’s not ideal for light sleepers, but it was fine for me.
