Arriving late after a delayed flight, the cottages felt almost pitch‑black; we had to rely on my phone flashlight to find the lock box and the key, though the twin room itself was comfortable with tea and coffee available, though no biscuits or snacks, and it stayed quiet.

We were at a party in the private function room, so having a room just a few steps away was amazing—it had everything we needed for the night, including tea and coffee making facilities. We met our friends for breakfast the next morning and it was great. We also ordered sandwiches the day before we arrived (1 × fish finger, 1 × steak); they were lovely—fresh bread and large portions. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

The staff were wonderful and made us feel truly welcomed, but as a solo female guest I wished the door had a bolt or chain to lock from the inside.

The food at the Fox Inn was fresh and delightful, and the staff were lovely, but the TV was the smallest one I've seen in any hotel for years, which was a bit disappointing.
